This book is one of a trilogy, being com- mentaries on three classics - At the Feet of the Master, The Voice of the Silence, and Light on the Path - considered the mysti- cal gems of Theosophical literature. They shed light on the deep significance and far-reaching implications of the perennial teachings embodied in these three classics whose subject matter is the path of inner transformation and spiritual realization.

The commentaries in Vols. I and III are by Annie Besant and C. W. Leadbeater; those in Vol. II are by C. W. Leadbeater, with a few ideas of Ernest Wood woven into the first fragment.

ANNIE BESANT, the second President of the Theosophical Society, was an outstanding reformer and orator of her time, a champion of human freedom, educationist and philanthropist. Sne guided thousands of men and women all over the world in their spiritual quest.

Her colleague, C. W. LEADBEATER, eminent seer and occultist, was a highly developed clairvoyant and the author of many books on the spiritual life and on the hidden side of things.

Together they shared their knowledge of life with so many of a thirsting humanity.

THIS book (in three volumes) is merely a record of talks by Bishop C. W. Leadbeater and myself on three famous books-books small in size but great in contents. We both hope that they will prove useful to aspirants, and even to those beyond that stage, since the talkers were older than the listeners, and had more experience in the life of discipleship.

The talks were not given at one place only; we chatted to our friends at different times and places, chiefly at Adyar, London and Sydney. A vast quantity of notes were taken by the listeners. All that were available of these were collected and arranged. They were then condensed, and repeti- tions were eliminated.

Unhappily there were found to be very few notes on The Voice of the Silence, Fragment I, so we have utilized notes made at a class held by our good colleague, Mr. Ernest Wood, in Sydney, and in- corporated these into Bishop Leadbeater's talks in that section. No notes of my own talks on this book were available; though I have spoken much upon it, those talks are not recoverable.
