P. Raja (born 1952, Pondicherry) teaches English. Language and Literature at the Tagore Government Arts College, Pondicherry. He is M.A., Ph.D., and his thesis for the Doctoral Degree was 'Many Worlds of Manoj Das'. Dr. Raja is the winner of four awards, such as Literary Award (Pondicherry University), International Eminent Poets Academy Award (Madras). Michael madhusudan Academy Award (Calcutta) and the Twentieth Century Award for Achievement (Interna tional Biographical Centre, Cambridge). He is author of more than 10 books and has published a large number of stories, translations features, etc. in prestigious publications. The book contains a collection of 52 short stories narrated by aged village folks. It offers a wide variety of pieces of fiction for a sumptious reading.
