K. Ramakrishna Warrier was born in Thrissur District of Kerala in the family of Malayalam and Sanskrit scholars and poets. He is M.A.LL.B, Rashtra Bhasha Visarad in Hindi and a diploma holder in German language.
From his boyhood he started writing poems in Malayalam, his mother tongue. He has published three books of poems in that language. He started learning Sanskrit after retiring from a German Company, Siemens Ltd., at the age of 60. When he got a little knowledge of this great ancient language, he started writing poems in that language.
So far he has written nine books of poems in that language including the present one. For his second book, translation of Rabindranath Tagore's Gitanjali into Sanskrit poems, he got Sahitya Akademi Award in 2011.
