"Om Sat, Sri Sat, Jaya, Jaya, Sat." Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, the universally worshipped Avatar (Incarnation of God), who during His advent (1838-1918) in India, taught the basics of morality and spirituality to mankind and promoted a unique kind of unity and Integration among the Hindus, Muslims and members of all other communities through His simple yet powerful teachings) of atmic unity, love, compassion, rinanubandha (bondage of give and take), saburt (patience), shraddha (faith), samarpan (surrender), sambhava (equanimity), vatragya (detachment). Dakshina (donation) and karma aur punarjanama (action and rebirth).
His external appearance of a simple, illiterate rural Faqir who lived in an old, dilapidated and isolated mosque at Shirdi. Which He named 'Dwarka Mat, putting on tattered clothes. like a Muslim faqtr, begging alms twice or thrice from five fixed houses and performing all sorts of thrilling miracles to cure, help and bless His countless devotees and visitors drawn from all communities, was, In fact, a grand vell of Maya (Illusion) projected by Him to hide His real stature of a Poornavatar (Full or Integral Incarnation of God).
Sri Shirdi Sai Baba was the re-incarnation of Lord Dattatreya, Lord Shiva, and Saint Kabir- the great iconoclast saint and poet of the Bhakti period of medieval India. He was Sarvadevta Swaroopam (all Gods rolled into One), inaugurator of spiritual renaissance in the Kali age, and the first of the Sal Trinity. His powerful Impact as a world redeemer is being felt in ever-growing proportions throughout the world.
It was my good fortune to have come under the umbrella of the divine grace of Sri Shirdi Sai Baba and that of his contemporary reincarnation Sri Sathya Sai Baba. I first came under Sri Sathya Sal Baba's grace in 1973 and through His discourses and writings, I learnt about Sri Shirdi Sai Baba.
