An eminent educationist of Allahabad, Dr. Pratibha Rastogi was born 1918 in Varanasi. She did her post graduation in English in 1937 from Banaras Hindu University at a time when very few ladies used to go in for higher education. Later on she did her doctorate in English, from Allahabad University.
Dr. Pratibha Rastogi started her career in her alma mater & subsequently joined Uttar Pradesh Education Department. She retired from the post of Joint Director of Education for women in 1976 and settled in Dehradun itself.
She always had a flare for writing poetry and had written number of poems. Krishna Charitam is her first publication. She took up the task of writing Sri Krishna Charitam after her retirement, as she felt that number of facets and stories of Lord Krishna should be woven in one thread. It took her three years to complete this epic poem.
Dr. Pratibha Rastogi passed away on 9th July 2003 at the age of 85.
