Col (Retd) Dr Karam Singh Mall had spiritual inclinations since childhood and had certain spiritual experiences during early adulthood. He was initiated into Nirankari Mission by Niranjan Singh, IAS, Chandigarh during April 1972. Later, seeing his spiritual. evolution at the top, he was permitted by Nirankari Baba Gurubachan Singh in 1976 to initiate any seeker of the divine knowledge. He performed this divine duty with full devotion and initiated many seekers with the knowledge of Supreme God Almighty (Nirankar) in different states of the country. In addition, he had been doing medical seva during annual Samagams of Nirankari Mission every year since then. Nirankari Baba Hardev Singh inspired him to do full time seva as an honorary medical superintendent in the Nirankari Hospital, Nirankari colony Delhi for which he took pre-mature retirement from Army Medical Corps in the month of March, 1995 and he did this honorary seva with full devotion and dedication till February 2012. He also started Health Exhibition during Golden Jubilee Samagam and developed it further for benefit of the devotees of the mission. As being from medical profession, he functioned as the faculty member of Prachar department and delivered lectures during training camps for preachers and Mukhis on comprehensive (physical, mental, social and spiritual) health, besides performing duty of medical advisor. He also delivered motivational lectures on voluntary blood donation and received various awards from Indian Red Cross Society on behalf of Sant Nirankari Mission. During 1999 Joginder Singh, editor Nirankari Magazine (English), persuaded him to write articles which he did and those articles were published in the same magazine till 2011 from time to time including three articles in special yearly issues. All these articles, including comments by readers have been compiled by him and presented here in the form of a book named Spiritual Rays. for the benefit of the readers.
