The advent of a highly elevated soul like Paramhansa Srimad Swami Nigamananda Saraswati Dev on this earth is not without any reason. In order to know the reason, one has to be aware of the situation prevailing in India at the time of his birth. Differences of opinions of different sects of religion had reached the peak and the sufferers were the general mass, not the preachers. Mother India was shackled with the foreign rule and an alien culture was thrust upon her. The society had forgotten the time-tested system of education and the new educational system has made the mass unruly and materialistic. The rich heritage of Mother India was displaced with a culture which was not suitable to the people of the country. Confusion and hatred prevailed in almost all the levels of the society. India needed some one who could reestablish the values of Sanatan Dharma and to start a process of harmonization among the different religious sects, to take the people from darkness of confusion and to lead them towards light and reality.
It is obvious that Swami Nigamananda arrived on earth with a particular mission. He became successful in all the four Margas such as Tantra, Jnyana, Yoga and Prema within the shortest ever time frame of three years only. This achievement is unparalelled in the history of the world of religion. Reaching the inconceivable, un-describable plain of Nirvikalpa Samadhi, he realized that he is 'Guru'. He was strongly established on this reality throughout the rest of his life.
And as Sarvabhouma Guru he had no animosity towards different sects of religion and had ample respect for all the opinions presented by them. By discovering and presenting the world the "Jayguru Mahamantra", he at a -stroke ushered in an era of harmonization. His uncondional love for human race made him the dearest to the hearts of millions of people even to the people who do not understand the true meaning of religion. If we analyse his life we are sure to find that God-has guided him and has helped him at the time of crises in his life.
The blessings and teachings of his four Gurus had played the vital role in his spiritually successful life, yet he was not Kripasidha but was a Sadhansidha saint. He never forgot the direction of his Yogiguru to reestablish the values of Sanatan Dharma in India and to prepare India for its future role it has to play for the international community.
In order to achieve this, he has set the goals for his followers based on three vital aspects of religion. 1. Sanatan Dharma Prachar; to re-, establish the values of Sanatan Dharma, 2. Satsikhya Vistar to spread the knowledge of the truth 3. Siva Jnyczne Jeeva Seva; service to humanity is the service to God. He had advised his disciples and followers to work hard to establish 1 -Adarsa Grihastha Jeevan; to lead an ideal household life, 2 - Sanghashaktir Pratistha; to establish the value of Sangha or union of devotees, 3 - Bhavavinimay, exchange of ideas and views among his followers. According to him, with these weapons one is sure to get victory in life. Time and again, he has cautioned his followers not to accept him as Avatar or incarnation of God. He has clearly said that he is Sadguru.
He, as Sadguru, is directly involved for spiritual upliftment of individuals and also of the mass. In his own spiritual life, he had witnessed- his tremendous knowledge melting into divine love making him one among the very few fortunate sadhaks to be established in a plain of highest type of emotion. For that, he had advised his followers to reach the level of Absolute Reality as professed by Sri Sankaracharya and adopting the method of devotion as shown by Sri Chaitanya. Thus, he has produced a synthesis of Knowledge and Devotion without hurting either of the two philosophies. He has revealed that in his previous life he was Tantrik Guru and in this life he has become Premik Guru.
Expressing the scientific truth of divine love he has said "Love me a little and become inheritor to my least spiritual property. I have done the Sadhana for you, so you don't have to do anything, just love me a little" And whoever could do that has achieved the ultimate objective of human life. The divine love which was presented to the world by Lord Srikrishna became unknown barring a few of his eternal consorts till 'Srimad Bhagavatam' came into being. Lord Srikrishna Chaitanya revived it through adoption, in his own life.
Swami Nigamananda presented the easy method adopting which any individual can enjoy that Divine Love. Truly, he has become Premik Guru of the world. He has categorically said "My existence as Guru is eternal. Now I am with this physical body. The moment I discard it, each one of your heart will become my heavenly abode. I am guiding you now, also I will continue to do so even after destruction of my mortal frame." We have firm faith in what he has said as thousands of people are still being benefited spiritually by his direct guidance and blessihng.
Writing the biography of such a highly elevated soul is not an easy task. Sadhwi Narayani Devi was an eminent scholar and had spent her life on research, study and in creating ageless religious holy books.
