Preface

I dedicate this book to the golden feet of Pranava devi Kanchi Kamakshi and I bow my head to her.

Constant, continuous obstacles in man's life by nature, the impact and influence of respiration, continuously appearing waves of thought, speech and resulting expansion of thought, mind and constant outlook on things outside and restless action of sensory organs are the main cause for the man unable to realise his own real self.

The main drawback is that the present 'Spiritual Leaders' and Heads of Religious Mutt have not given any importance to these above sensitive issues. They are considering these as not for their attention and research hundreds of spiritual questions remain unanswered for time immemorial. What we have now is only the repetition of already written and spoken spiritual matters instead of searching for main truth in self personal spiritual experience.

The ancient Siddhas, Rishis, Seers have experienced the secrets of nature in man's life and they have recorded their findings in their work in the form of hymn, verses and poetry. And these are rich treasure house of truth. Now it is our present duty to go deep and understand the inner truth of these writings and bring them to surface for common man to understand. But it is a very hard task like fox aspiring for grapes high up in the tree.

Foreword

Yogic exercises are the bridges uniting man's common sense with Divine knowledge. From ancient times there are different ways and different achievements in yogic exercise. For example, in Sri vidhya upasana, we have Tantra Sastram, Manthra, Yantra, Maha Shodasi (Higher 16) Maha Meru, Sakthi worship etc. Moreover there are Ashtanga yoga as cnunciated by Sage Patanjali, Advaita school of thought, and Bhagavath Geeta. These serve as main attempt, for those who practice yoga.

Though there are different ways of approach as described above, ultimate result which great seers attain is the same. For example, "Shad Chakra Siddhi, Kundalini Siddhi, Kumbaka Siddhi, Vak Mounam (speech silence siddhi) Mano Mounam, Pranavakasa Siddhi, Chit Prakasa Nishta give the same yogic experiences for great people. Though there are different steps in progress of yogic practice, but the final experience at the time of attaining siddhi is same for all.

We have seen in the first section, in detail, the practice of bhathi yoga and karma yoga as enunciated in Bhagavath Geetha by Amarakavi. In the next section namely second section, we are going to see Amarakavi's journey into search for spiritual knowledge in Raja yoga his direct meeting with his contemporary, great scholars and seers and his interaction with them on spiritual matters which Amarakavi shared with me and Vibhoothi Adigal. I consider this as a golden opportunity in my Life.
