There is a great demand for the copies of South Indian Inscriptions published in the earlier decades, from scholars and institutions. Since many scholars have taken up research on Epigraphy, the volumes are needed. A few volumes are out of print. It was, therefore, decided to bring out reprints of those which are out of stock and very useful ones. The South Indian Inscriptions Vol. I; Vol. II, Pts. I, II, III, IV & V; Vol. VI; Vol. VIII and Vol. XIII have been taken up for reprinting presently. I am sure that this reprinting will go a long way in creating awareness and greater interest in epigraphical researches. I am highly thankful to Smt. Kornai Anand, IAS, Director General, Shri S.B. Mathur, IAS, Addl. Director General, Director (Publication) and Superintending Archaeologist (Publication), but for whose encouragement, the publications would not have come out.
