The thoroughly engrossing Sangeetha Bala Paadam (Part II) VARNAM has all the ingredients to educate students of Carnatic music and to enlighten lovers of Carnatic music. An interesting compilation of famous varnams in Adi thalam makes for enthusiastic learning whereas the Pancha Nadai Varnam, Pada and Ata thala varnams and the chathurasra Ata thala varnam are highly informative and educative. The book contains an added bones of meanings of all varnams enabling the student to cultivate the `bhava' (essential emotion of the composition) which is the core of Carnatic music.
The final chapter consists of the formulae of selected janya ragas. All in all, a 'must have' book for the true Carnatic music Aspirant.
