Published in public interest the book 'Sanatana Dharma represents true approach to Hinduism. Deriving its content from the texts of Vedas, Upanishadas, Smrities, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Bhagvad-Gita and Puranas it presents the basic ideas, customs, rites and ethical teachings that mark out Hinduism from other religions and show the way towards building up of a character-pious, dutiful, strong, self-reliant, upright, righteous, gentle and well balanced good citizen. presenting the essence of Indian knowledge and its implementation in life 'Sanatana Dharma' establishes that in stead of being merely religious practices Hinduism is a way of life. In stead of laying down the principles of a particular sect the book presents the fundamental principles of Hinduism governing general view of life's obligations which help a person to become a good human being.
The 'dharma' 'religion' are not exactly the equivalents of each other. While religion is a system of faith and worship dharma includes duties and responsibilities towards other fellow beings-human beings as well as other creatures and Nature. Because of non availability of a term at par with 'dharma' 'religion' is used for it in English. However the content of the book and the detailed analysis of it communicate the wider meaning of dharma.
