The title "Saivism in Kashmir" is a comprehensive and informative description of religion-philosophical movement of Saivism in the Valley from the earliest time to present day. The celestial Valley played important role in the history of the spread and development of Saivite philosophy and rituals. Most of the people are not aware that in Kashmir in the past enjoyed such high reputation as a centre of Saivism. It is also not very well known that Kashmiri saints and scholars braved many dangers and often risked their lives in propagation of Saivism in Kashmir and other parts of the country. All these points have been widely discussed in this book.
N.K. Singh is a reputed Indologist, who has written and edited several books, encyclopedia and journals on religion, philosophy, history and culture.
