About the Authors Dr. Sourav Ballav is basically from West Bengal. He completed his B.A.M.S degree from J. B. Roy State Ayurvedic Medical College & Hospital (Govt. of W.B), Kolkata in the year of 2015 and M.D in Agadtantra from S.D.M College of Ayurveda, Hassan, Karnataka in 2018. Later on 2019 he awarded a P.G Diploma in Research Methodology from I.C.M.R. Dr. Sourav is already published more than 20 Pub Med and C.C.R.A.S index Journals. He is appointing as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agadtantra at Jeevan Jyoti Ayurvedic Medical College, Aligarh (U.P.) and teaching Research Methodology beside the subject Agadtantra. He attended as resource person, paper presenter and delegate in many National and International Seminars, CME in India and abroad.

Dr. Satish Chand Gupta is presently working as Associate Professor in the Department of Dravyaguna, Jeevan Jyoti Ayurvedic Medical College, Aligarh (U.P.). He completed his BAMS from SPR Ayurveda College, Sikar (Rajasthan) in 2006 and M.D in Dravyaguna from National Institute of Ayurveda, Jaipur (Rajasthan) in 2012. Since then he has worked in teaching with subjects like- Research Methodology and Medical Statistics, Dravyaguna for BAMS Students. He has attended as resource person, paper presenter and delegate in many National and International Seminars, CME at different parts of the country. He has published many scientific articles in reputed peer reviewed & reputed indexed PubMed, Elsevier journals.

Foreword I am happy to go through this book en-titled "The Text Book of Research Methodology & Medical Statistics" written by Dr. Sourav Ballav, M.D. (Ayu.) and Dr. Satish Chand Gupta, M.D (Ayu.), who have experience as a teacher and researcher in the field of t Ayurvedic education. For successful research trial, appropriate selection of a research study is very important. This can be achieved only, when one has an in-depth knowledge of the basic concepts of research methodology & medical statistics, which govern research trial results.

Hence this present book is note-worthy as the text is meticulously prepared with self-explanatory diagrams, tables, charts, pictures & question papers with lucid explanation. This book will be very useful for students, who are preparing university examination This is indeed appreciable and gives scope for young scholars in research areas.

Preface The need for having a simple text book with the basic principles of Research Methodology and Medical Statistics especially in the field of Ayurveda has been felt since prolong time. An ameliorative attempt has been made by authors with idea of fulfilling the requirement of simple made easy research & statistics text book for Ayurveda scholars.

This book presents systematically the Research Methodology and Medical Statistics of undergraduate syllabus of C.C.I.M. This book not only covers the syllabus point but also gives encompassed information of about each statistical test & the research techniques. All in this entire text book provide and expedite knowledge quest to fulfill the need of readers and researchers.

We shall be grateful to students, teachers and the Ayurveda faculty who point out the typographical errors and shall welcome suggestions for improvement.
