Swami Vireshwarananda, the President of the Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission, gave a spiritual talk in Bengali on 'Dharma O Dharma Jivan' before an assembly of monks and devotees during his visit to the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Jalpaiguri, West Bengal in 1979. The talk was later on published in the Souvenir of the Ashrama and also in that of the Jana-Siksha Mandir of the Ramakrishna Mission Saradapitha, Belur Math. For the benefit of many more, the talk came to be published by the Saradapitha in the form of a handy book.

With due courtesy to the publisher of the Bengali book, we are now publishing the English rendering of the book for the benefit of a still wider circle of interested readers.

We are greatly beholden to the Revered Swamiji for giving his approval to our publication of this English translation of his talk. We are blessed.
