Vedas, the root of Indian culture and tradition, enrich us with vast treasure of knowledge. The present volume entitled 'Reflections on Vedic Wisdom' deals with various important aspects of Vedic wisdom’ deals with various impostrant aspects of Vedic wisdom connected with Literature and Culture, Jyotisha and Ayurveda, Pure and Applied Sciences. The volume basically incorporates some selected and reviewed research papers presented in the National Seminar on 'Vedas: the Source of Oriental Knowledge System' organized by Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. The contributors are found to make significant attempts to analyse the whole range of Vedic thoughts from various perspectives. The book is expected to be a path-shower for researchers and scholars for further studies on the rich cultural heritage hidden in the Vedas.

Dr. Ratul Bujar Barn h, M.A., Ph.D. is presently serving, as the Associate Professor in the Department of Sanskrit Sahitya, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. He has contributed a good number of research articles in different journals. Besides, he has attended various National and International Seminars as well as conferences. His area of interest is Modern Sanskrit Literature.

Dr. Kamal Lochan Atreya, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D. is presently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sanskrit Sahitya, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. He has to his credit more than ten research articles published in different National and International journals and books some of which are also presented in different National and International Seminars and conferences. His areas of interest are Sanskrit Poetics and Classical Sanskrit Literature.

Dr. Pranabjyoti Deka, M.A., Ph.D. is presently working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Sanskrit Vedic Studies, Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari. He has contributed a good number of research articles in different journals and attended various National and International Seminars as well as conferences. His area of interest is Vedic Literature.

Indian civilization has its firm roots on advanced academic achievements since days of yores. The empirical findings of the pre-historic Indian and the rationalistic deliberations of the later days have culminated in what is called Indian knowledge system. India has her contribution since thousands of years ago, to all branches of learning whether spiritual or practical. Literature, art and architecture, philosophy and religion, social science, pure and applied sciences including technology and medical and veterinary science in all of them Indian texts are not at all wanting. And, Vedas, the earliest literary records, provide us with ample references to almost all branches of learning. With the pace of technological advancements, there have been multiples of changes which nobody can and should ignore, rather to accept with proper spirit and approach. However, it is also true, much benefit may be had of by way of revisiting the vast Vedic literature so that the inputs available could be utilized for furtherance of knowledge.

It is with this end in view that Kumar Bhaskar Varma Sanskrit and Ancient Studies University, Nalbari, Assam, organized a three day Natonal Semnar on "Vedas: The Source of Oriental Knowledge System" on 9th to 11th February, 2017, with the participation of a galaxy of Vedic scholars of India as well as young researchers. The seminar sponsored by the Maharshi Sandipani Rashitriya Vedavidya Pratisthan, Ujjain, was a grand success and the organizers are now coming out to publish a Volume mainly with some of the selected and reviewed papers of the seminar. I take the opportunity of congratulating all the scholars contributors and also the members of the Editorial Board. It is sincerely believed, the Volume will be of good use for whom it is meant.
