The historically important work & pioneering research of 'The Rahway Culture of Gujarat' was initiated by Dr. Sayed Afrozsultana, Sayed Rafiqasultana and the beautiful, colourful photographs were contributed by Sayed A.Viquar. This book is a valuable work highlighting the Rathwa Culture. The Rathwa's are extremely lively, colourful, culturally aesthetic, sensitive & traditional tribe of Gujarat. It is an amazingly impressive monographic study of Rathwa Culture encompassing their history, culture, traditional, rituals, religious practices, social, arts & crafts etc. I am sure this study will be useful to Ethno Archeologists, Anthropologists, Historians. It will also be helpful in preserving their heritage, culture & art. Both the sisters have done a pioneering study into the life's of the Rathwa tribe. It is a combination of their own research, field work & their photographic work. This work will inspire coming generations & future scholars. I hope the research on these colourful people is useful and will be translated in different languages especially in Gujarati & Hindi. I am pleased to present this valuable extraordinary scholarly research work and the collection of rare colouful photographs. I sure do hope that this type of research works will continue in the future. With best compliments.
