Preface

The book "Rajapūjita ramyam" stuti gitams contains 101 sanskrit compositions (with notations) of Madhurai. Sri. G. S. Mani, whose mudra is 'Rajapūjita'. Rājapūjita is an adjective for the composer's spiritual guru (kuzhandaiananda swamigal of Madhurai). The composer firmly believes that the output in this book is due to the grace and blessings of his guru. These compositions contain few rare raga-s and very simple sanskrit names of the divine. Mainly, the thrust of these compositions convey elemental devotion to the divine. These compositions could easily be adopted by any singer. Composing songs calls for an age old grammar which is adhered to by the composer. The very simplicity of the compositions with their novel approach would attract any musician. The composer feels that this book is a humble offering to the music world for what it is worth and confirms that it is simply the divine grace.

I am grateful to my guru Madhurai. Sri. G. S. Mani for bringing out this book of his compositions and I thank Notion press private limited for undertaking to bring out the publication of the same.
