In present day society, people seldom know the purpose of human-life. They have hardly any understanding about life. They are under the impression that life means to acquire as much wealth as possible, to get a higher social position or prestigious job, to enjoy the body as much as possible. involving as much sex as possible that they can manage, eating and drinking up to the neck, satisfying the other senses by enjoyments like movies, TV, mundane music, gossiping, etc. In order to achieve all these they are sacrificing the human, ethical and moral values thus lying, cheating, shouting and other cruel methods are very comnion in society. His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedänta Svämi Prabhupada, who is the spiritual master for the author of this book, says, "The modern man is lower than animal in his behavior and activities". Like animals, the present population only know about cating, sleeping, mating and defending, but unlike animals they do it in a wrong-way by using cheap and greedy methods, utilizing their intelligence for a wrong cause.
