The present poblication Festschrift in hood of Prof. JN.Pal, a renowned field archaeologist, pre historian, proto historian, paleoanthropologist, paleo zoologist, museologist and art critic who has served more than four decades at Allahabad University brouht out by the contributions made by his admirers, well wishers and pupils from India and abroad for his excellent contribution to the Indian History, Culture & Archaeology. Professor Anil Kumar Dubey is a Professor in the Department of Ancient Indian History, Culture and Archacology, BHU, Varanasi. He acquired initial education from Jaunpur district and higher education from University of Allahabad .He begun his teaching career from University of Allahabad where he worked as a lecturer then he was appointed as a teaching professional at Government P.G College, Kotdwar, Uttarakhand in March 1999.In year 2005 he joined as a Associate Professor at Banaras Hindu University, He remained a member of Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission from 2008-10. He is well versed in Archacology and posses mastery in Indian History. Culture and Religion. Till today he has dozens of research papers published in several National and International journals and is credited with authorship books namely Madhya Ganga Ghati Men Adhivas Prakriya. (Jaunpur Janapad Ke Vishesh Sandarbh Men), Purvanchal Ka Puratatva Evam Sanskriti (Ed.). The study of Material Remains in Indian Prospective. He has been involved in excavation and exploration of number of archacological sites viz. Jhunsi,, Amilkoni, Tokwa, Hetapatti, Hariharpur, Agiabir and Madardih. He is active member of several academic institutions at National and International level and being invited as specialist by important Institutions of India. He has been a member of UP Higher Education Commission, Allahabad. His field of specialisation is Archaeology. He has excavated the site Madardih, Distt. Jaunpur as a Director.
Vinay Kumar (b. 1976), Ph. D. MA (Ancient Indian, History, Culture and Archacology), MA (Archaeology and Heritage Management), Post-Graduate Diploma in Archaeology from Institute of Archaeology, Archaeological Survey of India (ASI). Presently he is working as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ancient Indian, History, Culture and Archaeology, Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi. Prior to this he has worked as Assistant Professor at Indira Gandhi National Tribal University, Amarkantak, Madhya Pradesh. Dr. Kumar has worked as Consultant and Assistant Archaeologist in ASI. He has also worked as Research Scholar in Indira Gandhi National Center for the Arts and Indian Archaeological Society, New Delhi. His areas of specialization include Field Archaeology. Art History and Heritage Management.
Dr Kumar is recipient of Gold Medal by former Hon'ble President of India Late Dr. A. P.J. Abdul Kalam for being University topper. Dr. Kumar has been awarded Junior and Senior Research Fellowship by University Grants Commission. He has also been awarded National Museum of Korea2014 and 2016 Museum Network Fellow ship by Govt of South Korea. He has been awarded Study and Research Grant by the Nehru Trust for the Indian Collections at the Victoria and Albert Museum to undertake project on 'Ethno-archaeological Perspectives on Megaliths of Bastar.
He has participated and supervised many archaeological excavations namely- excavations at Lahuradeva (UP), Bhirrana (Haryana), Baror (Rajasthan). Hansi (Haryana), Bhanpura (MP), Gambhirwatola (M. P.), etc. He has conducted archaeological excavation at the site of Matigaon (Pharsand Mohanpur), Dist. Chandauli as the Director in field Season 2019-20. He has undertaken many research projects and their outcomes have been presented in many National and International workshops, seminars and conferences. Dr. Kumar has worked with many International and National Scholars. He has published more than forty five research papers in many national and International journals. He has authored the book titled, West Asian and Hellenistic Elements in Indian Art, Mani Sushma: Archaeology and Heritage, Early Harappan Culture of Kot Diji-Sothi Complex, Indian Art, Archaeology and Culture and Felicitating ALegendry Archaeologist: Prof B.B.Lal.
He is a life member of many national and international committees/societies like Indian Archaeological Society, New Delhi, International Association for Asian Heritage (IAAH). Colombo, Society of South Asian Archaeology (SOSAA), Pune, Museums Association of India (MAI). Indian Art History Congress, Indian Society for Greek and Roman Studies (ISGARS), Madhya Pradesh Itihas Parishad (MPIP), Sagar, Indian History Congress (IHC), New Delhi, Wakankar Rock Art and Heritage Welfare and Society (WRAHWS), Bhopal etc. He has organized five International and six national conferences. He has delivered special lectures as a resource person at various institutes and universities like JNU, New Delhi, Guwahati University, Jaipur University, Jiwaji University, Gwalior, Central University of Karnataka, Kalburgi, Institute of Archacology. Archaeological Survey of India, New Delhi, etc. Dr. Kumar is well versed in Persian, German, Sanskrit, Oriya, Bangla and Maithili languages.
