Dr. Sharad Porte is working as an Associate Professor & In charge Ayurveda Cancer Consultation and Treatment Unit, National Institute of Ayurveda (Deemed to be University), Jaipur (AYUSH Ministry, Govt. of India). Author is working as a Senior Physician in Ayurveda Cancer Consultation and Treatment Unit.

His Research is focused on Preventive and Adjuvant Ayurvedic Therapy for Cancer. 42 Research Article has been published in National/ International Peer Review, Index Medical Journal; most of these are on Cancer. Author has 15 years UG+PG Teaching Experiences. He is Registered Research Guide for Post-Graduate Research Scholar and supervised more than 10 Research Thesis of Post-Graduate Scholar on Cancer.

Author Presented Clinical Case Study on Cancer through Ayurveda in International Seminar at Indian Embassy, Den Hauge, Netherlands.

Though the direct description of cancer is not found in Ayurveda, but it has been described under the various heading like Arbud & Gulma etc. Ayurveda is a store of herbal. mineral and herbo-mineral medicines and has been using for prevention or cure or both of various diseases including tumors. In Ayurveda Shodhan Chikitsa & Shaman Chikitsa has been mentioned to treat any disease including Cancer. Raktamokshan (Bloodletting), Shalya Karma (Surgery) and Agnikarma (Heat Burn therapy) are especially useful in this Roga. After shodhan therapy Dhatus are relived from Dosha and then shaman chikitsa given for the equilibrium of Doshas, Dushya & Srotasa. The cytotoxic herbal drugs like Bhalatak, Snuhi & Arka, mineral drug like Arsenic and herbomineral drugs like Raudra Rasa, Arbudhar Rasa & Arkeshwar rasa had proved their efficacy during research and will be used it in the treatment of Cancer in therapeutic doses.
