We are living in transient phase of continuously fast changing period. What we learn today, the same becomes obsolete day after tomorrow. Everyone is running behind the materialistic world to catch hold of something big. But imaginary, that too in unplanned way in this process sometimes we do achieve something, but in due course we leave aside our real 'ourselves! And when we assess our achievements we find that we have paid very heavy price, for that illusory achievement, in terms of mental peace, physical health and spiritual self.
It is a bitter reality, without any dispute, that we can- not escape from the crazy race, up to certain extent, for external needs and desires, because we have to remain in that type of social set-up. But at the same time is not it our responsibility to be aware of extraordinary alarming pressure being exerted on our mind and body due to that crazy race? The pressure of modern life style, pressure of so called advanced knowledge of science and technology and the pressure of ever-changing unstable thoughts have now gone beyond our capacity to bear, and that have led to a proportionate growth of physical sickness and diseases, as well as psychosomatic disorders.
In today's so called modern society most of the people are suffer from various sophisticated and uncurable ailments which were not reported by ancient people. To stress, an overused phenomenon, has found a firm place in our New Age Vocabulary, just as fast food, junk bonds or software packages have. So, debased by misuse it generates only negativity in most people's minds. It plays havoc with the mind and body forcing them to revolt in myriad ways. It is believed that stress results from never ending desires and needs of an individual being greater than his actual capacity. In response to the threatening situation of stress stimulus several physiological changes take place in the body, which may be summarised as Fight-n-Fight reaction. Chronic stress both lowers resistance to illness and intensifies its impact. Often, there are recurrent patterns where illness coincides with stressful periods and may linger even after the stress is over. It is general belief that stress results in non-specific diseases, but recently there has been new thinking on the link between several serious diseases of almost uncurable nature and chronic disruption of immune responses because of repeated stress stimulation.
