The sacred name of the Jugacharya Swami Pranavanandaji Maharaj, the founder of a philanthropic and socio-cultural organisation named the Bharat. Sevashram Sangha is well known not only to his coun-trymen , but also to the men living beyond the shores of India. The lofty deeds like service to humanity , social reform , character building of the youths, nation build-ing as a whole are associated with the name of this great Acharya . The character building of the students and youths has been the foremost among the multifarious activities in the life of the Acharya. However the students and the youths of this country are unaware about their well-wisher's divine life and His mission .

It has become the onus on the Sannyasins of the Sangha to impart the knowledge of teachings as well the life and mission of this great spiritual Leader to the younger generation. Accordingly several books have been brought out ; of a few such publication `Chotoder Pranavananda' in Bengali is one of them. The purpose of the present English version is for circulation among students and wider population . It is hoped that this will fulfil the wishes of the teachers and students alike.

If a few of the young readers are benefitted by this book, I shall consider my effort well-rewarded.
