Prof. Sudhaldev Mahapatra was born in a middle class teacher family in Ichhapar, of District Kendrapars [Tulasi Kshetra), Odisha After Completing BAMS from KATS Ayurveda Mahavidyalaya, Berhampur University, Ganjam, Odisha; he completed his MD (Ay), Rasa Shastra and Ph.D. Rasa Sharma from Faculty of Ayurveda, Banaras Hindu University in 2007 and 2010 respectively Since then he has been engaged in teaching profession of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishajya kalpana He is having more than 12 years of teaching experiences of both Undergraduate and Post-graduate students. During the last 12 years of his teaching 05 books and around 50 National and International research publications are in credit. Dr. Jagannath Haryan was born at Konkan part of Maharashtra, he did his schooling at Kharepan Sindhudurgs. Then he complirted his BAMS from RGUHS Bangalore, and PG in Rasa Shastra from SV Ayurvedic Medical College Tirupatifrom 2011 to 2014. Presently he is working as Associate Professor in PC department of Bass Shastra and Bhaishajya Kalpana at VYD SAyurveda Mahavidyalaya Kharja, Uttar Pradesh, De Sameet Masand was born in a middle-class scachers fatally in Palampur, of district Kangra Himachal Pradesh. He did his schooling at Saint Paula School Palampur up in his secondary classes. He completed his BAMS and MD (Ay) in PO Dept of Rasa Shastra and Bhaishiya Kalpana from BGGPGAC Paprola, Hanachal Pradesh in 2011 and 2015 respectively. Currently he is working as teacher in PG Department of RS&BK VYDSAyurdic Mahavidyalay Khurja. He has published one book and 17 research papers in various national and international journals.
Bhaishajya Kalpana is one the disciplines of Ayurveda, which require the practical skill of medicine manufacturing. At the initial stage, BAMS students are being taught and trained the practical approach of Ayurvedic medicine manufacturing in small scale at the pharmaceutical laboratory of different Ayurvedic institutions and colleges. To teach, as well to perform, the practicals of preparing Ayurvedic medicines needs the extensive, complete and systematic practical approach and knowledge regarding the raw materials to be used, features of final product and features fin between phases, to access the right way of working principle. There are so many text books written by eminent scholars on the features Bhaishajya Kalpana is available, that enriches the learners with affluent knowledge of the subject. But for practical purpose, particularly subject Ba for student community there is very less literature is available to guide step by step for doing practicals in the laboratory, for small scale preparation and learning the consequences of the practicals. With the aim of practical approach of the subject, this literature is prepared by explaining step by step of the practicals performed in the shejeet, laboratory, very systematically. This book is also explaining the possible consequences, precautions, reactions, adverse effects and their remedies etc, as available for the completeness of the book. In preamble of the book some fundamentals regarding the materials, dose, shelf life and guidelines how to do the practicals in the laboratory are explained in casy language. Color photographs of raw materials, processings and prepared medicines are given in the last of the book, are the hallmarks of the book, beneficial for the student to identify and perform with ease. The book contains 56 practicals that are frequently practiced in different Ayurvedic collages all across the country. The materials collected from different sources like different Sanskirt verses, laws, rules and regulations, analytical procedures are daly acknowledged and tried to present in easy language and sentences for the convenience of understanding of students and necessary modifications are made keeping the sense intact.
