What are the principles of education that are considered as the guiding factors in education? There and other such issues are considered in the philosophical foundations of education.

About the Author Saiyad Hasan Ansari born at Zamania Town in Ghazipur district (UP) 4th May 1952. He holds B.Sc. (Hons.), MSc from Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh and a Ph.D. degree from Banaras Hindu University. Varanasi. He was a visiting Doctoral Fellow (CSIR) during 1981-82 and Pool Officer (CSIR) during 1982-84 at Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi. Dr. Ansari has to his credit twenty-one published research articles and three mimeographs. He has guided 6 Ph.D. and more than 12 M.Phil students in the field. of Settlement Geography, Health Geography and Applied Geography. He has also written a book on settlement geography. He has attended/presented the papers in the National and International Seminar/Conferences.

Dr. Ansari has organised a workshop in the field of Remote Sensing and its applica tion and a National Seminar on Environment Issues and Problems at Local Level during his headship. He has also coordinated two UGC Refresher Courses during 2001, organi sed by the Department of Geography, M.D. University, Rohtak. He delivered many lectures in various university and colleges.

Recently, Dr. Ansari has completed a minor UGC Research Project entitled "Socio economic Factors and Women's Health A Micro Level Study". Presently he is working on a Major Research Project entitled "Geo Environmental Analysis and Assessment for Ecological Balance in the 21st Century in Central Haryana" sponsored by University Grants Commission.
