Peruru is a small village in the Miryalaguda taluk of the Nalgonda district. The main temple which is dedicated to Svayambhu Somanathadeva has its epigraphical history from the period of the Western Chalukyas of Kalyana. The region, during their regime was under the chiefs of the Choda lincage, popularly known as the Kanduru Chodas. During the Kakatiya period it was administered by a Yadava Prince Vijaya Permadi, son of Simhana. The place seems to be famous in those days for its commercial activities as noticed by the cpigraphs set up by certain merchant guilds and the shrine of Nakaresvara, that is the god Šiva, installed by the nakara or trade guild.
Përür, a small village in the Miryalgüda taluk of the Nalgonda district, appears to have been a town of some commercial importance in the late Kalyani Chalukya and the Kakatiya periods. Its epigraphical history perhaps begins in 1100 A.D. Vikrama, during the reign of Tribhuvanamalla Vikramaditya VI (306 and 306/A of 1969). Then come three inscriptions dated C.V. 44 (mistake for C.V. 42) (299, 300 and 300 A of 1969); next come probably two undated inscriptions 306 and 306/A, for they mention, like 299/69, Kriyāśakti Pandita as one of the donees; next come two inscriptions (304 and 303 of 1969) dated in the 5th and 11th years of Bhulőkamalla era respectively (A.D. 1130 and 1136); they are followed by 305 of 1969 dated in the 5th year of Jagadēkumalla (A.D.1144), 302 of 1969 has perhaps to be assigned to about this time, As Kandari Udayana Choda (304/69) was a subordinate of Bhulokamalla, Bhimana Choda of this record, an younger brother of Udayana, may very well have flourished under Jagadekamalla who succeeded Bhülõkamalla.
