This book is a collection of Gandhi's sketches and tributes on some of the personalities whom he admired, loved and cherished. These sketches begin from the South African period to almost his last days.
With his uncanny insight into the inner urges and subtle compulsions that moved men and women to action and despite his diverse preoccupations, Gandhi could find time to pick out the virtues in people around him (often his differences with them notwithstanding) and pen them down for his readers to emulate and benefit by.
The sketches of appropriate personalities for this volume was selected by U.S. Mohan Rao, who was a former Director of the Publications Division.
