The present publication 'PARAMA HAMSA CHARYA' contains spiritual principles and duties of PARAMAHAMSA' (SANYASIN). The author of the text 'Sri Sadasiva Brahmendra Sarasvati' was a born 'JEEVANMUKTA'. He was a scholar in all Sastras, particularly in Yoga Darsan. Being a Yogi - a Sage, 11 Seer, a Preceptor, above all A JEEVAN MUKTA he created many literary works for the welfare of the mankind. However he observed Mouna Vrata throughout his life, but he had communicated his noble thoughts to the public through his numerous literary works.
This present work which is published for the first time is a treasure of Principles of Advaita Philosophy. The introduction in Tamil and Sanskrit given by the learned editor clearly reveals the life history of the author and his other works. This work named 'Parama Hamsa Charya' is precisely describing the qualities of Yathi, Bhikshu, Brahma - Nistha and Parama Hamsa with reference to the various SRUTlS, SMRTHIS, ITHIHASAS, and PURANAS and this clearly shows the vast knowledge and real state of wisdom of the author. It is certain that the Principles described in this text may help every individual who wants liberation from worldly affairs.
The editor Sri P. M Padmanabha Sarma a Retired Sanskrit Pandit of Sarasvati Mahal Library is an experienced Sanskrit Scholar, particularly in Advaita Vedanta (Philosophy). He has brought out many Sanskrit manuscripts during his service here. He has taken much pain and keen interest in editing this rare manuscript in an appreciable manner by giving detailed introduction in Tamil and Sanskrit.
