Back of the Book "A new format always brings excitement. In cricket, while Test format continues to be the epitome of the sport, newer formats like T20 have taken the game to the masses, and to those who hadn't been fans of the sport earlier. Given that children of today have low attention spans, short formats like 'drabble' will be more appealing to them. Eventually they will get into the habit of reading. About the Book This 'symphony' has 86 stories in the form of drabbles, each exactly 100 words. Easy to read, the stories span several genres and have been written by three individuals representing different generations of a family. This is a fascinating potpourri of fiction, with some that are humorous and quixotic, others skirt around tales of soft sci-fi and adventure, while some evoke feelings of nostalgia and empathy. The drabbles are gripping and will transport the reader into the world of the characters.

About the Authors BISHAN SAHAI is a retired business manager, who has held board-level positions in leading Indian corporates. He also writes on management- related subjects. A science graduate, he has studied Business Management from Delhi University. He lives in Gurgaon.

RUCHI RANJAN holds a doctorate in child psychology from the University of Delhi and is a trained counsellor as well. She has taught psychology in Delhi University and in the Government Degree College, Hyderabad. She has published numerous research papers in reputed journals. At present, she works with marginalised children in select schools of Hyderabad.

ISHIKA RANJAN is a student of Grade 11 in Hyderabad. Her favourite subjects at school include English literature and mathematics. An avid reader, she has a penchant for writing. Her creativity is channelized through photography, experimenting with new recipes, sketching and music.

Foreword Just a small teaspoon of sea water holds the entire DNA of the ocean. The same may be said of us humankind, where even the minutest of hair strands, nails or any body part carries the complete genome sequence of an entire body. In simple, short words, the very subsistence of our life's story depends upon the tiniest of the almost invisible molecules, which then develops to become mega-success stories of our lives.

Preface We are happy to place into your hands a different kind of book. A drabble is a relatively new form of writing, not yet very popular in India. The concept of drabbles is said to have originated in the 1980s, in the UK Science Fiction Fandom, with the Birmingham University SF Society taking the lead.
