These two works prove with elaborate quotations and arguments that the sacred syllable 'Om' is a part of the first Brahmasūtra, just as the word 'Atha. The two venerated authors have discussed many theories and views regarding the meaning and significance of 'Om'. There is no doubt that these two works occupy a high place among the works of the Madhva Vedanta system.
Vidwan Sri. Nagasampige, a Senior Research Assis tant of our Institute, is an out-standing scholar in the field of Dvaita philosophy. He has many works to his credit in addition to numerous translations of Dvaita Works. He has edited the two works mentioned above with the help of four manuscripts. I trust these two works will be received by interested scholars with warmth.
Sri Satyatma Tirtha Swamiji, the present pontiff of Sri Uttaradi Matha, is a scholar of very high standard in many branches of learning. The Oriental Research Institute records its sincere gratitude to the holy feet of Sri Satyatma Tirtha Swamiji.
