■Astrology, is a science where interpretations can be done in multiple ways. However it is the right approach to the interpretations which make the predictions meaningful and accurate. This book seeks to shed light on the complexities and also enumerates the right ways to interpret them.
■The theme of the book is to simplify astrological concepts into small tips or rules so that even a beginner can use them for predictions appropriately and effectively.
■In the end astrology is not a one-size-fits-all system. It is not about finding easy answers or definitive truths but embracing the uncertainty and ambiguity of life. While we will continue to explore the nuances and contradictions in astrology, it is my belief that the book will succeed in providing the right approach to the Readers in that direction.

Astrology, with its intricate web of symbolism and interpretation, has fascinated humanity for time immemorial. Its allure lies not only in its purported ability to predict the future but also in its capability to offer guidance and insights into the complexities of interpreting the planetary placements and movements. This book 'Nuances and contradictions in predictive astrology' delves into this captivating realm.
As a student and firm believer of astrology, I have encountered numerous instances where the practice of predictive astrology defies easy categorisation. This book is an attempt to throw light on some of the subtle nuances that can make or break a prediction while exploring the contradictions that challenge our understanding of some of the astrological concepts. The nuances are some sort of rules or guidance which are tabulated subject wise for ease of understanding and use. Contradictions, on the other hand have been raised as questions and answers with clear cut conclusions which can be applied for predictions. To augment the understandings, illustrations have been provided wherever possible.
Astrology, is a science, where interpretations can be done in multiple ways. However, it is the right approach to the interpretations which make the predictions meaningful and accurate. This book seeks to shed light on the complexities and also enumerates the right ways to interpret the same.
I must emphasise that this book is a collection of reflections and insights, based on the views of many astrological gurus and my own research and analysis of live horoscopes with a view to inspire Readers to understand the nuances and think more deeply on the contradictions.
At the outset, I must say that it is an honour to write the "Foreword" for this book on Astrology by Sri B Hariharan.
I have been teaching and pursuing Jyotisha Shastra for nearly three decades now through my alma mater, the Indian Council of Astrological Sciences (Regd.). Naturally, I have had the benefit of reading many a book, written by stalwarts, on the various topics of the subject. When I received this new work by Sri Hariharan, my first thought was that another commentator has come up with his inputs which may be found useful by readers who may chance upon this presentation.
However, having been requested to do the honours to this effort, I thought I had a job on my hands and would need to give this presentation a thorough reading. My concern for the time I might have required to give to this work turned out to be rather a fruitful and pleasant experience.
Sri Haraharan's book is of a different kind and markedly different from many other astrology books available to keen readers, especially students. Sri Hariharan's commentary is unique because he talks about the core issues which facilitates the practitioner in the delineation of the horoscope and drawing the correct inferences.
