Working in the Oriental Institute, The M.S. University of Baroda from last many years, gave me a golden opportunity to explore the world of Manuscripts. Here, I came across many published and unpublished works, lying in the form of Manuscripts. In the initial years of my work, I started transcribing the Manuscript of Narakasuravijayavyayoga- a Xerox-copy of the work obtained from Bharata Itihasa Samsodhana Mandala, Pune, as a learning step to edit Manuscripts. Later on, I learnt that since the work was already published by Osmania University, my work carries no importance (I was ignorant of the relevance of NCC till then), so the work left mid-way. After a long time, I came across the printed book of Osmania University in our liberary and curiously compared my transcribed work with it. The BISM copy was definitely unexplored, unknown and a bit different from Osmanina's book. After researching, I found that the BISM copy was not noticed at all and thus never considered for the Ptd work. Moreover, the Ptd book had some ambiguity regarding sequence of dialogues, sloka Nos. which BISM copy could clearify. So I re-started the project, although quite late, because of the above mentioned reasons.

I am really deeply indebted to the Oriental Institute which houses so many Unpolished Gems (manuscripts) in its treasure. Obviously, the Director (Officiating)--Prof. M.L. Wadekar and the Ex-Dy. Director Dr. S.Y. Wakankar are the two encouraging guides who taught me to walk on this untreaded path (for me) of Manuscript-editing. I will always be grateful to them for opening this avenue to me.

The Printed Edition of Narakasuravijayavyayoga (of Osmanina University) worked as the progenitor for my work. The befefit derived from D.G. Padhye's edition of this book printed in 1961, is immense. The Osmanin University deserves all the credit for bringing the NVV to light as this work was never printed (in Devanagari) before them or after them.

The Bharata Itihasa Samsodhana Mandala (BISM) is renowned for depositing many rare, unpublished and important Manuscripts. This one is also one of them. I am thankful to them for providing the xerox-copy of the work to the Oriental Institute of Baroda from where I could access the copy.

The real Krsna for this work is none other, but, Prof. Radha Vallabh Tripathi (true to his name) who rescued this work from the darkness (unpulished form) and encouraged me to go for its publication. He will be always a guiding force for me to find my way in the academic world.

Last but not the least, I am sincerely thankful to the Rashtriya Sanskrit Sansthan, Delhi for the publication of the book.
