The most public spirituality in India is Vedic one. Vedas intent is mostly to the ritual practices by the individual in a group / community, which are of daily in nature aiming mostly at cleansing the clouded intellect of common man, called as chittasuddi. These are to be learned from a Guru (Preceptor), who is to be venerated as the Divine clothed in human apparel. A clear man now focuses on the more subtle aspects of creation. Herein the Vedas declare that these are specific to the individual and these have to be obtained from a Guru (Master), who has such a deep understanding and experience. Some passages of the Vedas also hint in a coded manner of these higher spiritual practices. Mantra, Tantra and Yantra is a triad in these secret spiritual practices. Here Tantra will denote the doctrine or system which will have practice of mystic words (mantra) with usage of the mystic diagrams (yantra). These practices are the basis of the sadhaka in his sadhana.
A Guru initiates a seeker into this system by imparting some sacred syllables - called as Mantra. Since sound is an aspect of space, it follows that all sound is eternal, since space is the first created element and a source of infinite power. Par8urama says-varpatmaka nityiits gabd51, 11 Parauramakalpa Sutra 1.7 II Iimantraviim acinlya-saktita Paras'urcimakalpa Sutra 1.8
The initial sadhana will be to do Japa of these mantras as instructed by Guru and try to immerse into these sound waves. The Meaning of Mantra is Mananat-trayate it mantra. By constant repetition, which saves or helps a seeker to cross over is called mantra. Tantras always give these mantras in a codified manner. Later many commentaries were written on the elucidation of these mantras. In line with them, the mantras pertaining to various revealed paths of the sandtana dharma - Ganapatya, Saiva, Sakta, Vaishnava are now presented to the spiritual world. It is essential that these mantras are received from a competent guru. Any lacuna in understanding of the said procedure or loss in memory of seeker or guide is rescued/helped by this book. Any short coming in this venture is entirely due to our intellectual miscarriage or oversight. Any mistakes pointed out will be rectified in the next edition.
We offer this as a flower to the feet of eternal/entire Lineage of Enlightened Souls, who out of their compassion have revealed these to this world on order of Divine.
In eternal service of the Adi dampati Lalita Kamesvara Yogamba sameta Atmanadanatha Smt.Geethedevi K Ramesh.
