Writing has always been a hobby for MK Devidasan. However, it was not always something he thought he could make a living with. After retiring from the Indian Air Force as a Wing Commander serving 32 years, he realized he has something valuable to share with the world and turned to write full time. Since turning his passion into a profession, MK Devidasan has written prolifically and is constantly exploring BW themes, genres and ideas. It's incredibly hard work, but he is never happier than when he sits down at his desk putting the opening words to a new book or story on paper.
The Kalimalarkkavu temple, located six kilometers west of Irinjalakuda, is famous for various special powers possessed by the presiding deity Kali. As I am not a regular visitor to any temples, I was not aware of this temple until a cousin of my wife, a regular visitor of that temple, informed me with specific mention of certain incredible experiences devotees had after their regular visit to that temple.
On Deepavali day of the year 2014, my wife and I paid a visit to that temple. The temple flooring was cemented with sidewalls of two and a half feet height without the devotees' seating arrangements. As understood, no one asks for any unique offerings spending money in that temple. The primary offering to that deity is the prayers which the devotees sit together and chant in front of the altar. Even if some devotees want to give specific offerings as per their desire that can be done but are not costly, unlike many temples, around the town. During my visit, the devotees were only a few, countable on fingers, and I was not that impressed.
