Even when I was not aware of the word 'Meditation' or the meaning of Meditation, since then, Honourable Gurudev Naychandra Sagar Suri M.S. insisted on me, "Abhi! You have to do research and development work in the field of Meditation. You must revive the Dhyana tradition by presenting theoretical and practical features of Dhyana in front of the world.
But I was not very much enthusiastic about doing this work. I used to think- "Gurudev is assigning me this work of Meditation, which is the subject of experience, not expression. Neither am I a good orator nor a good writer. One achieves Dhyana through silence, then how can I put my inferences achieved by contemplations and discussions in writing in front of people? And I also believe that the description and guidance of the subject of Meditation are like climbing tiny steps towards the sky."
So, I somehow avoided Gurudev's insistence on this work because though the experiential Meditation gives you seamless joy, there is a bigger and bitter truth that one feels it uninteresting, might find it totally dry and monotonous in the initial stage itself. As they say that the 'First impression is the last impression, hence one might want to quit the path of meditation after finding it uninteresting.
But, one day, this insistence turned into a command. Gurudev said, "Abhi! You have to go ahead to work in this field. You have to read and digest the scriptures related to Meditation and bring out the gist of Meditation, organize the secrets and methods of Meditation in such a way that even laymen can easily understand it."
I had no other option except for obeying Gurudev's command. 'GURU ANAE DHAMMO' - keeping this scriptural text in mind, I started exploring literature related to Meditation.
I read whatever came to me from all the available sources. I searched and read Meditation-related matters from all the religious scriptures. I also went through the literature of scientific research work done on Meditation. Two years passed in reading almost approximately 125 scriptures. The thoughts of Meditation were deep rooted in my mind till now. During the Chaturmas while I was in Hyderabad and Secunderabad, miraculously with the blessings and grace of Paramatma & Gurudev; this work got written and published "Dhyanamrut - Ek Vishva Dharohar" in the Hindi language.
Dhyanamrut scripture was a success because of high demand in national as well as international readers who loved spiritual and meditative literature. Hence, we started to set out the publication of this scripture in the English language during the Chaturmas of Belgaum. With the grace of Shri Chandraprabh Swami & the blessing of my Gurudev Acharya Naychandra Sagarsuri M.S., this work is about to finish.
