This book is the mapping of Manipuri Culture, showing the root of Manipuri culture, the total interpretation of Meitei/Meetei community. The book shows the totality of internal and external structure of a Meitei/Meetei. The book re-interprets Laiharaoba, Manipuri Raas Leela, Nata-Sanskritan.
The sixteen articles represents body, mind and culture of Meitei/Meetei and in addition, the book tries to answer the question of identity 'who am IT Blood though it is mixed, face and language are deep in heart with Laiharaoba which is the foundation of Goura Leela and Raas Leela. It is a meeting of many things on the journey/sojourn of life of a man. From the early days, the sixth month or earlier a baby started responding the word Tadhing. It is a foundation of dance, foundation of martial arts, showing the flexibility of hand, it is a test of brain; in one way, one can say that it is a whether the kid is responding the word or not. This is a proof of our blood.
From the sixteen articles it can be interpreted that there was a civilization, there was an independent kingdom, for its protection, it has worriers and martial arts; since there was civilization, there were various forms of developed performing arts, able composers who synthesis and produced many forms. Aesthetic of Raas Leela can be interpreted as a journey of Atma to Paramatma. This journey is shown by graceful subtle movement of the body in Manipuri styles; that is portrait by the devotee gopies surrendering themselves to the Lord Krishna. This is the beauty; this is the aesthetic of Rass Leela.
On the other hand, Laiharaoba, in a holistic view can be examined as a complex composite practice in a ritual space under certain specific rules and regulations with indigenous dance form/body movement having its own interpretation. This can also be claimed as a classical dance.
