The world exists just because love still exists on earth. c..../ If this one divine quality left the world, then there could be no existence on earth. Let us love the root of the tree. Then we shall see that the branches, the leaves, and the foliage of the tree also feel our love.
Love is the secret key that allows a human being to open the door to God.
Where there is love there is fulfillment. What is love? Love means giving and becoming one with everything, with humanity and divinity. Where there is Oneness, there is pure love. If we give someone something and expect something in return, this is human love. But if we love someone unconditionally, that is divine love.
Divine love makes no demand. It is unlimited in every way. Divine love at every moment illumines us and there is complete fulfillment. In divine love there is no possession - only a feeling of oneness. This oneness can enter into an animal, flower, tree or even a wall. Divine love tells us that we are greater than the greatest, larger than the largest and that our life is infinite.
My wife Seetha and I were initiated into Sai marg by Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji in 1977. Swamiji predicted that we will be blessed with two sons whereas an astrologer said no progeny for us! Through Swamiji's grace Seetha practised divine love and always desired that a book on Sai Baba should be brought out, which would inspire everyone to practise divine love.
Unfortunately this could not be done when she was physically with us. Seetha prompted me to take this up on 'Akshaya Tiitiya' which was on 13th April 2013. One day I had a divine encounter with Sai Baba and traversed to the past to his time and Baba himself narrated me the details of his life and so this book The Loving God got completed on raga panchami (11th August 2013) and is now in your hands!
Each one of us is unique. And the loving God Sai Baba has a specific role for us to play in the ever unfolding cosmic drama of life. Let us discover that special purpose and fulfill it. I pray to Lord Ganesha to give me a lot of strength and power to complete this task. Sai Baba himself in the form of Lord Vinayaka will write his story making me a mere instrument or medium for it.
Sai Baba was confined to the remote village of Shirdi in Maharashtra prior to 1936 and it was Sri Narasimha Swamiji's untiring efforts for two decades that made Sai Baba a household name all over India. Sai Baba touched the lives of people from all walks of life, who had been all their lives searching for an anchorage. He gave them a healing and inspiring touch. He offered them the magical formula of love. The new life he gave them is a new page in 'Bhakti Marg'.
Many books have been written on Sai Baba but hardly any in a chronological order or in a novel style. A spiritual odyssey is not easy to reconstruct on paper in a story form. The usual materials, the plethora of which is often the despair of the biographer and the historian, simply do not exist. There are no archives of papers, no back volumes of newspapers and periodicals, tapes and films from which significant facts are to be gleaned. Sai Baba attracted thousands of devotees to Shirdi in those days when there was hardly any means of communication. The struggles of those devotees, their ordeals, travails and the triumphs have their dramatic moments, but the world knows little about them. Difficult as the task was, it was the good fortune of Dr.G.R.Vijayakumar that Sai Baba took him to those days so that he could write this biography of Sai Baba in a novel form and publish it in the diamond jubilee year of Sri Sai Spiritual Centre. We hope that this work reaches a wider circle of readers all over the country.
Dr.Vijayakumar, a doctor of Medicine, has been a Sai devotee since 1977 and is well versed in religion and philosophy. He has written several books in English and Kannada including a biography each on Sri Narasimha Swamiji and Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji and a few books on 'public health'. A good number of his articles have been published in several Sai magazines all over the country.
May the merciful blessings of Sai Baba, Sri Narasimha Swamiji, and Sri Radhakrishna Swamiji be upon us!
