"It is proper to first worship Prahlada before worshipping Nrsimha because the holy fourteenth lunar day of the bright fortnight has appeared in order to remove distress of Prahlada."

Born in Jagannath Puri in 1957 he became associated with ISKCON while on his second year in college. He joined the society in 1978 and was initiated by His Holiness Jayapataka Swami the following year during the Gaura Purnima festival in Sri Dham Mayapur. From then on he served in various capacities, first as sankirtan leader in Kolkata, then on the boat preaching party in Mayapur. Starting in 1983 he served four years as Temple President in Bhuvaneswar.

In 1987 he returned to Mayapur to become general manager. Under his supervision the Gita Correspondence course program, College preaching and book distribution were developed. At present Maharaja is serving in Mayapur as one of the GBC members.

In ISKCON, the devotees' worshipable Lords are Śri Sri Radha-Krsna. At the same time we have seen that devotees are also very attached to the worship of Lord Nrsimhadeva, who is famous for removing all obstacles that devotees face on their journey back to Kṛṣṇa. Lord Nrsimhadeva is also known for protecting the sankirtana movement. We have heard how Nrsimhadeva appeared to Chand Kazi in a dream and warned him not to disturb His sankirtana movement. Thus Lord Nrsimhadeva plays an important role in the devotional lives of bhaktas around the world. The first chapter of this book presents different subjects to let us know why the pastimes of Lord Nrsimhadeva and Prahlada Mahārāja are so important for us.

Lord Nrsimhadeva appeared here in ISKCON Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir in His deity form to bless all devotees and protect our project in all respects so that devotees can practise devotional service nicely. Lord Nrsimhadeva is not only protecting devotees of Mayapur but is also giving His mercy to devotees around the world through His merciful glance.

Especially during these times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when the whole world is going through such turmoil, Lord Nrsimhadeva is our only shelter. People have lost their faith in scientists and political leaders. with so many being forced to turn towards God. Lord Nrsimhadeva is famous for giving His protection.

I started compiling this book many years ago. Finally it has manifested due to the causeless mercy of the Lord. The writings in this book are collected mainly from Srimad Bhagavatam, Caitanya-caritămṛta, Visnu Purana, Śiva Purana, and a few other books.

I hope by reading this book people will develop faith and devotion unto the Lord. I pray at the lotus feet of Lord Nrsimhadeva to bless me that 1 may always remember Him.
