About the Book
Because only God exists and all souls are expressive aspects of God's consciousness, we are living in God now. Until we are conscious of our true nature as spiritual beings abiding in God, it can be helpful to nurture aspiration to authentic spiritual growth, intentionally choose a wholesome lifestyle sustained by a clear sense of meaningful purpose, pray and meditate regularly, and frequently refresh the mind with constructive thoughts.
The God-centered themes in this book will inspire and motivate readers to live skillfully and effectively for their highest good. The affirmations can be used to awaken and actualize soul qualities and provide awareness of possibilities for demonstrating excellence. Quotations selected from inspired sources supplement the theme pages.
About the Author
Roy Eugene Davis is a world-traveled teacher of meditation and spiritual growth processes. He is the spiritual director of Center for Spiritual Awareness and has written several books, many of which have been translated and published in several languages. Mr. Davis was ordained by Paramahansa Yogananda, in 1951, in Los Angeles, California.
The Desire to know God is innate to every person. What is not commonly known is that, because God's being is the only reality in existence, every person, creature, and thing in nature is already abiding in God.
All souls are expressive units of God's consciousness. Cosmic forces emanating from God comprise the field of nature: our world. Living consciously in God only requires that we acknowledge the facts of life as they are, and train ourselves to be aware of God's presence all of the time. When we are grounded in right understanding , and choose to learn by experience how to be aware of what is rue about ourselves in relationship to the Infinite, spiritual growth is progressive and satisfying and our lives are made orderly and meaningful by our own right endeavors and the redemptive actions of God's grace.
My purpose for publishing this book is to encourage readers to nurture their soul qualities and fully awaken to and experience the highest good of which they are capable in all aspects of their lives. Some of the themes are selections from my previous writings; others are new.
In the text, the word Self, when spelled with an upper case S, is used to refer to our true nature as individualized expressions of God's consciousness. When we clearly experience the difference between our essential nature as pure consciousness and ordinary, conditioned and ordinary, conditioned states of awareness, we are Self-realized. When we are more spiritually awake and actually know and vividly experience the reality of God, we are God-realized. When we are God-realized and our innate knowledge is Self-revealed to the extent that we apprehend the full reality of God and understand the causative actins of conciousness, we are enlightened. When we are permanently enlightened, we are liberated from all erroneous beliefs and illusional perceptions which formerly clouded our awareness.
To benefit from this book, daily read a selection from the text, early in the morning if possible and think about the theme during the day. An ideal time to read is immediately after an interlude of quiet prayer and meditation. The chosen selection can also be perused at night, just, before going to sleep. It can be helpful to read aloud the themes, quotations, and affirmations. It can be beneficial to read the affirmations several times, until a definite shift of awareness is experienced.
