Shri Durga Prasad Mandelia 95 years "Young" es- teemed (b. 1907) represents Indian entrepreneurship and managerial skill at his best. He owes this unusual combination to his mentor Pujya Ghanshyamdasji Birla as well as his own talent for organisation. He has an analytical bent of mind which makes for ease and quickness in taking decisions. He is an examplar of the philosophy of management which he expounds in one of his speeches included in this book-contriving to succeed in whatever one manages or wants to manage by applying the knowledge of causes and laws of all things and reasons. Mandeliaji's knowledge is not only confined to industrial wholesome management, both traditional and modern, but a far wider field covering the Upanishads and the Puranas, the Ramayana of Tulsidas and the Nitisatakas of Bhartrihari, and, last but not the least, the Bhagavad Gita. The speeches and writings included in this volume reflect Mandeliaji's unique wealth by knowledge of, sacred and secular, as well as his experience of 'managing' men and things, over six decades.
