Ved Rattan Dr. S. K. Kapoor is disciple of Yogiraj Sri Sripad Babaji Maharaj, Vrindavan and H. H. Maharishi Yogiji Maharaj.

Dr. Kapoor is continuing with the old traditions and is reviving the ancient discipline of Vedic Mathematics and Vedic Geometry.

Going by the saying that Author is known by the books Authored by him, it can be well said in respect of Ved Rattan Dr. S. K. Kapoor that he is deserving disciple of enlightened Gurus.

Present Book of the Author, is his sixth publication. Step by step, Dr. Kapoor is taking his readers in his books one after the other and the present one "Learn and Teach - Vedic Mathematics", following 'Glimpses of Vedic Mathematics', (2003) and Vedic Geometry (1994-95), 'Fermats Last theorem and Higher Spaces Reality Course' (1996-97), 'Foundation of Higher Vedic Mathematics' (1998-99),'GoldBack Theorem' (2000-01). (Published by M/s Arya Book Depot, Karol Bagh, New Delhi).

Dr. Kapoor has been awarded GURU GANGESHWARANANDA VEDA RATNA PURASKAR 1997 by Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan for his excellence and research in the field of Vedic Sciences and Mathematics. The Ved Ratna Puraskar, as these are called, have come to be accepted as highest epitomes of al honours that a Vedic scholar can strive to achieve in his life time.

Dr. Kapoor's approach to Vedic Mathematics is a geometric one, based on the structure of the Vedas and the Vedic literature. This therefore, offers a new approach to the teaching of mathematics, which has many important and profound implications. Though children deserve and expect a holistic education modern teaching remains fragmented and lacks coherence, so the unified approach to mathematics teaching outlined in this book and based on Vedic texts is very welcome.

Dr. Kapoor has demonstrated that the organization of knowledge in the Vedic literature mirrors the structure of Vedic Geometry. This Vedic Geometry transcends our familiar three-space geometry as it includes higher-dimensional spaces; all spaces having a four-fold structure. These are real space, which can be experienced by transcending the lower-dimensional space. The practice and understanding of transcendence is vital in education. Higher states of consciousness, which correspond to the experience of higher-dimensional spaces, need to be included in any educational system, so hat children recognise what they are already aware of: that reality goes beyond the familiar world of three dimensional space.

Every discipline should be taught in a way that brings out its full range and potential. The Ganita Sutras expounded by Sri Bharati Krsna Tirthaji cover all of mathematics, both pure and applied, and as Dr. Kapoor has shown, these have their own geometric format. Dr. Kapoor's approach to the teaching of mathematics is therefore a coherent and integrated one, which can transform mathematics education into a powerful tool for individual development. But first teachers must learn the Vedic system and how to teach it, and to this end Dr. Kapoor has given courses on learning and teaching Vedic Mathematics which are currently being made freely available on the Internet.
