Lalithambika Antharjanam began to write as a young girl of fifteen and very soon distinguished herself as an outspoken critic of the evils prevalent in the Namboodiri society of her time. A member of a large and demanding extended family, she refused to be overwhelmed by the restrictions of her domestic life and continued to nurture her literary pursuits until she died. Her works, which include numerous short stories and an award-winning novel are an unfailing testimony to her passion and dedication as a writer.
