This is a biography of Khasa Subba Rau, a veteran journalist and freedom fighter, written by Dr. D.Anjaneyulu, journalist and, author. It includes six articles from a collection of tributes to Khasa by Sri Vüppuluri Kalidas, publicist.
Like Rajaji (Sri C. Rajagopalachari), Khasa never believed in writing his own biography. Nor did he keep any diary or notes of his meeting with high personages and incidents in his own life, save what he himself wrote in his famous column "Sidelights" in Swatantra and Swarajya, his twin weeklies. It was on the initiative of the late Padmabhushan Dr. P. Tirumala Rao, a close friend and admirer of Khasa that this biography was written.
Dr. Anjaneyulu, who wielded a facile pen with a sense of history, has, with the available material, done an excellent job. "Khasa has been an integral part of my ideal and psyche. As a journalist, I cannot find anyone to replace him," he wrote to me. It is unfortunate that Dr. Anjaneyulu passed away before the publication of the book.
It is but fitting that this book should be dedicated to the memory of Dr.P.Tirumala Rao and Dr Anjaneyulu.
