काव्य प्रकाश: Kavya Prakash of Acharya Mammata with Three Commentaries (An Old and Rare Book)

The present text Kavaprakasa with three unpublished commentaries (बालचित्तानुरञ्जनी, सारबोधिनी and काव्यप्रकाशदर्पण ) was assigned to Dr. Goparaju Rama, then Research stipendiary, for editing in 1969. He did its editing with collation of other manuscripts procured from BORI, Poona, Varanasi and other places. Out of the three the Kavaprakasadarpana ms. pertains to the Vidyapeetha which was incomplete (upto Vth Ullasa only).

The text was printed and was released in September, 1976. After its release the editor was in pursuit of procuring the full text of the Kavyaprakasadarpana. At last he succeded in his efforts by locating the ms. in the BORI Poona. He made up his mind to bring it out with his own investment and succeded in the year 1979. It is a solitary manuscript.

Since the Kavyaprakasa is a sought after text all its copies got exhausted: within a few years and the demand for its reprint has been pending since quite a long time.

Now its reprint is ready.

In the course of the reprint the editor of the Kavyaprakasadarpana decided to add the full text of the Kavyaprakasadarpana to the present reprint thus making all the three commentaries run in their full length. He surrendered his copyright on it.
