The book takes you to the highest spiritual platform on this earth located in Tibet, Kailash-Mansarovar. This forbidden land with its rugged terrain on the outside yet a spiritual heart inside, shrouded in the veils of mystery with the wind that sings the lyrics of the prayer flags, the heights that shower the whole world with peace from its “roof of the world” went deep down inside my heart to capture all of what I could with my eyes have fallen in love with for life! And beyond! The passion for travel and camera took me to these spiritual heights of 19500 feet trekking and climbing on the foothills of the Mount Kailash. Tibet, the holy abode of Lord Shiva. Having traveled to this heavenly abode 5 times in the last 4 years has opened my eyes to the true beauty and grandeur of Nature.
About the Author
I am a Delhi based photographer and film maker. With the deep passion for traveling and exploring the heights and the beauty of different terrains, I moved myself to fly to the extended heights of the Himalayas right from the north to the east face, to swim in the stunning oceans in the south and to loose myself in the glory of sands in the west. I relate very closely to those few lines which I read somewhere.
‘We travel, initially, to lose ourselves; and we travel, next, to find ourselves. We travel to open our hearts and eyes and learn more about the world than our newspapers can accommodate. We travel to bring what little we can, in our ignorance and knowledge, to those parts of the globe whose riches are differently dispersed. And we travel, in essence, to become young fools again.
Before I started with photography and film making, I spent 8 years at the management level in the corporate world. Continuing my academics, I completed my Doctorate in Naturopathy, Never knew that there will be a turning point at this stage of my professional life. There was an intensive struggle for long within my self to explore my horizon and then there it was. My passion for travel took me to Tibet in 2004 for the first time and it changed every bit of me. January 2008. I got married to Anurag and today we have a little girl Ananya who lights up every moment of our life.
