The author's original book Joyous Mysticism was in two parts. The material presented therein was related to two broad themes-Survey of Mysticism in world Religious and profiles of world renowned mystics, viz. Sri Rama Krishna, Sadhu Sunder Singh, Mahatma Gandhi, St. Francis of Assissi, mystics of Medieval Europe, Shankaracharya, George Fox, and Mrs. Annie Besant.
The above book has been reorganized and edited and is now presented in two separate volumes-the present book, Joyous Mysticism in world Religions' which presents an extensive and comprehensive survey of Mysticism, and the other, 'Great Mystic Saints of the World', Which includes all the above mystics on which the divine-inspired Yogi Spencer had written with such spiritual ferver, lucidity and clarity.
Editor's Note
Joyous Mysticism in World Religions is the abridged and edited version of the original book Joyous Mysticism, authored by the great Indian Parsi Yogi, Spiritual Seeker, Spiritual Healer and God-realized soul Minocher K. Spencer of Karachi {1888-1958}. It was first published by the Spiritual Healing Centre, Coimbatore in 1947.
Due to the sudden death to Sri K.S. Aiyer, Secretary and the backbone of the Spiritual Healing Centre in 1965 that Centre abruptly closed down and so this remarkable book on Mysticism has remained out of print and unavailable from the last over 30 years. Since interest in the phenomenon of Mysticism has greatly revived in recent decades in the modern world with mystics like Ramakrishna, Ramana Maharshi, Annie Besant, Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, Sri Meher Baba and many others in our country and in the world at large, we have felt that it is hightime that this remarkable classic treatise on Mysticism by the great spiritual seeker Minocher K. Spencer should be republished.
It presents a lucid and comprehensive understanding of the elusive phenomenon of Mysticism and an exhaustive and beautiful survey of the models of Mysticism in all the world religions, from ancient to modern, which can be easily understood by all those who are keenly interested in Mysticism or spiritual mysteries.
As a matte of fact, at some point of time, every one becomes interested in this phenomenon which sheds light on the mysteries of God, supernatural elements, soul and the like and gives real solace and strength to the man.
We have pleasure in republishing this rare book on mysticism with due editorial treatment, with the kind blessings and encouragement of Sri. A. Somasundaram, the 83 year old spiritualist, Founder and Secretary of Divine Centre Markapur (Andhra Pradesh) who was a close friend and confidant of Sri Aiyer, Secretary of the Spiritual Healing Centre Coimbatore and an admirer and friend of Yogi M.K. Spencer. He has since the closure of the Centre at Coimbatore been inspiringly and dedicatedly carrying forward the unique work of disseminating spiritual knowledge all over the globe under the Presiding Spirit Guides of the 20th Century world- Sri Shirdi Sai Baba, Rishi Ram Ram and Sri Swami Amritananda. My grateful Thanks are to all these divine personages.
I earnestly hope that this rarest of the rare book on mysticism will be widely read with deep interest by spiritual seekers of all faiths and nationalities and it will immensely benefit them all.
