To study the Vedas, one has to study all the vital six branches, viz., Chandassu, Vyakarana, Nirukta, Jyothisha, Shiksha and Aagama. Out of six branches of Vedas, Jyothisha gives the guidance of Time, Year, and performing time of Yagnas. Scope of Jyothisha is very very vast, individually or circumstances oriented, Jyothisha is very useful. When prediction of the individual is possible with the help of Horoscope or Jathaka; similarly, the Jyothisha, in the absence of very essential inputs of Birth time, the inputs for the creation of Jathakas, Question branch (Prashna Jyothisha) of Jyothisha, is very useful to foretell about Nation or countries, "Medhini Jyothisha," of Bhavishyavadhana. "Baishaja Jyothisha," for its knowledge of science of health. Matters related to women is "Sthree Jyothisha." Different branches of Jyothisha are stretching their helping hand, to assist the mankind.

Present book is in a condensed form of the above mentioned books and based on my three decades of experience in Jyothisha practise, and for the study of interested students of Prashna shastra this effort is made. All the great concepts of Prashna shastra are explained in very simple terms, and without giving any room for any sort of doubts. The needed practical concepts of Prashna shastra, are explained in simple terms, along with Aroodha Prashne, Tamboola Prashne. Only the complimentarily related mathematical aspects of a Prashne, given in simplest form. And, in the present situation, same can be obtained with the help of calculators. Aspects of answers obtainable through Ashtamangala Prashne are Ayurdaya, Disease, Different badhas, Marriage, Children, Prashne about Losses. Jyothisha is a science derived out of Mathematics, Hora, and Samhitha divisions of science-casting of everlasting light, for the purposeful, practical, useful, and holistic aspects of life.

In Jyothisha shastra, transitory Kundali or Jataka is prepared out of the accurate time of birth, date, place and so on. Jataka is the mirror of good and bad deeds of one's previous birth and based on such Jataka predictions of virtuous deeds of present life are predicted. Here, in case of differences in time of birth, variations in predictions are also possible. However, volatility of results is still possible in one's horoscope based on the individual good. and bad deeds occurred in the previous births. Many times, even if the predictions of the Jataka are good, individual will be facing lots of hardships and difficulties in life. Under such circumstances, Prashna shastra is very much useful to the individual. The Jyotishi, will have to be very alert, and carefully weigh the merits of Jataka or Kundali of a person with the predictions of the Prashna shasthra.

Prashna shastra throws the light upon interim relief and guides on available travel, war, family life, income, losses and so on. Fore seeing problems and remedial aspects arising out of family, institution, temple, and others can also be predicted from the Prashna shasthra. Not limited to one individual, to find out the root cause of problems Prashne shastra is complimentarily useful and that is the special benefit of Prashna shastra.

In case, in spite of indications of good predictions in Jataka and still one is in deep trouble, can be understood because of owing to the bad deeds done in this present life. Similarly, if bad predictions are indicated in the Jataka and leading a peaceful life, that is being understood as the result of virtuous deeds done in the present life. So, the origin of Prashnashashtra, is to find out the remedies for the multiple problems developed after the birth of a person.
