Owing to various circumstances Indices to Pramaņa- närtikabhāshyam could not be included in the work when it was published last year. I discovered this fact on my return from America in July 1954 and immediately requested the learned editor to compile them. He gladly undertook the work and prepared eight detailed indices, which are being published in this supplement. Pandit Baladeva Mishra, the decipherment Pandit and Sri. Sitaram Roy, M.A., Government of India scholar, revised and checked the entries very carefully. It is hoped that the publication of this supplement will help a critical and comprehensive study of the Pramanavārtikabhāshya.
Opening words of each line of the kärikäs are arranged alphabetically in Index I. Second Index gives the proper names occurring in the work and the third one words of special significance. The fourth Index lists different udaharanas and the fifth one the various lokoktis to be found in the book. Works, quotations and kațūktis are indexed in the 6th, 7th, and 8th Indices respectively.
