In the book Religion and Politics in India an attempt has been made to adopt a novel method of developing the theme of interaction and interdependence of these two crucial phenomena of human activity Religion and Politics in a historical perspective.

This book contains a unique kind of historical survey, which is not data based, but examines the genesis of broad parameters of Indian Society and Culture then and now, to understand the crucial and continuous link between religion and politics in India.

This book will of particular interest to the graduate and post graduate students of political science and history of Indian Universities.

Syed Ali Shafee is presently working as Assistant Professor of English at Shadan College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. He was awarded Ph.D. Degree in English by Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1993 on the topic Drama and the African Heritage: A Study of Selected African, Caribbean and African-American Plays of the 1960s and 1970s. He is a life member of the American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad and holding regular membership of Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (IACLALS) since 1987. He has participated and presented papers in seminars, conferences and workshops on Commonwealth Literature and American Studies.
