Syed Ali Shafee is presently working as Assistant Professor of English at Shadan College of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad. He was awarded Ph.D. Degree in English by Osmania University, Hyderabad in 1993 on the topic Drama and the African Heritage: A Study of Selected African, Caribbean and African-American Plays of the 1960s and 1970s. He is a life member of the American Studies Research Centre, Hyderabad and holding regular membership of Indian Association for Commonwealth Literature and Language Studies (IACLALS) since 1987. He has participated and presented papers in seminars, conferences and workshops on Commonwealth Literature and American Studies.
