She has participated in several international conferences both in India and abroad in allopathic, homeopathic and Ayurvedic medicines and presented several papers visiting countries like Austria, Germany, Indonesia, Malaysia Singapore, UK and USA. Between 1975 and 1999 she was running a free homeopathic clinic in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh and had adopted four villages around Bhopal rendering free services like medical, health and hygiene, well water cleaning, making approach roads and houses for the poor. A staunch devotee of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Dr. Mrs. Charanjit Ghooi is presently serving as a gynecologist in Sri Sathya Sai General Hospital, Prasanthi Nilayam.
In 1975, for the first time, I visited the ashram of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, known as Prasanthi Nilayam, in the South Indian town of Puttaparthi. I went to join the celebration of His 50th Birthday. After physically seeing Sai Baba with my own eyes, I was astonished to realise that He was none other than Guru Nanak, Lord Krishna, and Purushotthama Rama. Since then, I visited the ashram during every birthday of Swami's and have been working in the Medical Camp which is conducted during large festivals. The doctors, who are volunteers, are requested to arrive by 14th November and stay until 26th November. They attend to the medical problems of Baba's devotees who come to Puttaparthi from far off to join the birthday celebrations. Since 1975 I never missed an opportunity to do service at the Medical Camp. I also made sure to allot time for a visit with my ""Papa"", Dr. V. K. Gokak, whom many may know as the first Vice-Chancellor of Swami's Institute of Higher Learning. Since 1975, when Sai Baba literally ordered him to embrace me as his adopted daughter, I have accepted Dr. Gokak forever as ""Papa"," and was in the habit of writing and speaking to him on a regular basis. In 1984, although I was physically ill, I could not restrain myself from going to Puttaparthi for the Medical Camp. As per the ashram's strict schedule, I arrived at Puttaparthi on 14th November. Before my arrival, I notified Dr. V. K. Gokak of my programme to attend the 1984 Birthday Celebration. The desire to have Sai Baba's darshan (site of a holy person or God), as well as have an opportunity to stay with Dr. and Mrs. Gokak was all too compelling.
