This book has been a noble attempt to discuss all such important international happenings in a limited framework following the onset of the First World War until the closure of the second one. It is in the form of a textbook and every effort has been made to maintain the standard. The language followed is precise and self-convincing. I believe the book in its present shape benefit the learners.

Itanagar and Utkal University, Bhubaneswar. His present academic interests include the Developmental History of Arunachal Pradesh and the Economic History of Modern Odisha. The Second Chapter deals with international politics of the inter-war period getting largely convulsed under the spate of growth of capitalism in the western world and the issues emergent of the inter-allied war debts. The Treaty of Reparation as well as the terrible economic debacle of 1929 had badly sapped both European Economy and Politics. The American 'New Deal' Policy hardly served the purpose. The period had to witness the rise of totalitarianism in the mainstream politics of Italy and Germany. The Chapter further inscribes the emergence of a socialist state in Russia after the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 with its emphasis on socio-economic and political reforms under Lenin and Stalin; and a modern Turkey under Mustafa Kemal Pasha to ensure her a strategic position in the international politics.
In the Third Chapter focus has been made to deal with the Nationalist in Indo-China and Indonesia during the inter-war period. Their nationalism of the twentieth century was the product of the new imperialism and was part of the wider currents of unrest affecting many parts of Asia and Africa. While contending the rise of the Arab world the issues of the problem of Palestine as well as the Egyptian Freedom Struggle are properly taken care of. The Chapter also covers the foreign policies of USA, USSR, England, France, Germany, Italy and Japan during the same period.
The Final Chapter of the book goes to deal with the issues of Disarmament and role played by the League of Nations in this direction towards reducing or eliminating the rat race for armaments so as to restrict the means of military attack by one nation against other.
